Adverse health effects and measurement of
aerosol nanoparticles have increasing concerned scientific and policy making
communities. CPCs measure number concentration of nanoparticles by condensing a
fluid on their surface to enlarge to optically detectable sizes. Prevailing
CPCs operate at around ambient temperature meaning hot engine exhaust needs to
be cooled before measurement which may effect the morphology of the particles.
In order to avoid cooling, it would be useful to design a high temperature CPC.
